Beschreibung
While most of Magic: the Gathering's key characters have been out of action since the War of the Spark (2019), Zendikar Rising welcomes back a few Planeswalkers. Nissa Revane and Nahiri, both from Zendikar, are among them, as is Jace, a native of Vryn who was previously the Living Guildpact of Ravnica.
The new party mechanic in Zendikar Rising is based on the idea of traditional adventuring parties. It's a mechanic found on creatures, instants, spells, and other things. A full party consists of a cleric, a rogue, a warrior, and a wizard, offering a little bit of everything a well-balanced adventuring party needs.
Kicker and landfall are two mechanics that have returned from previous Zendikar sets. A spell can become more powerful when the kicker cost is paid. Landfall gives the player a bonus when placing lands onto the battlefield from any location.
Landfall appears for the first time on a Planeswalker: Nissa of Shadowed Boughs. Modal double-faced cards were also introduced with the Zendikar Rising set. For CBR, Louis Kemner described what modal means: "From the hand, either side can be played, but once a side is chosen, the player is locked to that side. Every modal double-faced card so far has had a spell on one side and a basic land on the other. The idea is that as long as these cards are in the hand or deck, they can provide a much-needed land or spell at the right time.
A Zendikar Rising Draft Display has 36 Draft Boosters and each Zendikar Rising Draft Booster contains 15 cards:
10 Commons
3 Uncommons
1 Rare or Mythic
1 Basic Land
1 token/advertising card
